FORMATION

Elementary Faith Formation

For the 2021-2022 Formation Year we will be holding in-person classes for Faith Formation children in grades KN – 5 from our four parishes and the Partner Parishes of SS Cyril and Methodius and St. Hubert.  As our curriculum, we will be using Pflaum's Gospel Weeklies for the Kindergarten students and the "We Believe - Catholic Identity" edition from Sadlier for students grade 1-5. This edition helps the students to build their Catholic Identity around core Catholic beliefs, practices, and principles so that all students, including needs of diverse learners, can truly embody their faith.  They will enjoy sharing their faith with the world.  Incorporated into the schedule will be Family Days, where the whole family will enjoy and evening of catechesis.  Due to the possibility of increased Covid cases, we will move the classes to a virtual setting maintaining the same curriculum.  Looking forward to having an awesome year filled with great learning opportunities for everybody.

Middle School

Middle School Youth Ministry activities are open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade youth from our four parishes and the Partner Parishes of SS Cyril and Methodius and St. Hubert.  We will have in-person classes on Monday evenings for the 2021-22 year.  The curriculum will be a mixture of the Middle School Edge Program and The Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth.  These two options offer the students the opportunity to delve into, learn about, appreciate, and understand their faith in a variety of ways.  Also, allowing for breaks for social time or games.  The young people need this time to really form their identities, grow in their love for Jesus, His church and the Catholic faith.  Formation does not end after Confirmation.  The students need their Catholic identities and the church more at this time.  Therefore, the 8th grade students will be given times to merge with the High School Youth Ministry.  Then in January after break the 8th grade students will permanently be a part of the High School Youth Ministry.

Youth Ministry

The youth ministry program is for all youth in grades 9-12.  All are welcome to join!  There are four parts to Youth Ministry:  Service, Worship, Catechetical, and Social.  Service gives us the opportunity to do various Works of Mercy in our community and parishes.  Praising God is the ultimate form of worship.  As the youth ministry, we will actively participate in Masses, set up prayer services like Divine Mercy Sunday, Stations of the Cross, songs and musicals, retreats, etc.  Catechetical is where we are able to grow in our knowledge of faith, scripture, tradition and doctrine.  Lastly, we can't forget the fun times we get to spend together just being the Catholic Youth from the churches of U'town.  The Youth Ministry will be our own little spot in this crazy world where we WANT to learn, play, and grow spiritually in community with one another.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Are you or anyone you know interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey toward becoming a full, participating member of the Catholic Church. RCIA is a faith formation process designed primarily for adults who have not been baptized in any faith and are intentionally seeking God in their lives. Additionally, it is for those baptized in other faiths, as well as baptized Catholics who have never completed their sacraments of initiation, specifically confirmation and Eucharist.  For more information contact our Parish Office, 724-437-4441.
